Lakeside at Prospect Park Reopens to the Public

Lakeside at Prospect Park officially reopens to the public on Saturday, Aug. 1 with modified hours for boating, biking, and other activities.


A Brooklyn staple, The LeFrak Center at Lakeside at Prospect Park offers year-round fun, from ice skating in the winter months to a water splash pad to cool down in the summertime. While the versatile recreation center closed for a bit due to COVID-19, New Yorkers can now finally get out of the house and enjoy some family-fun this summer when the center reopens on Saturday, Aug. 1. The park will be open daily for biking, boating, and water play. Boating will be available beginning Aug. 7.

Parents should keep in mind that the Splash Pad is not regularly sanitized, so all guests are encouraged to adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines which will be posted at the site. Beginning Aug. 1, the Bluestone Cafe will be open daily for takeout and outdoor dining from 10am-8pm.

Boating hours: Opening Aug. 7. Daily, 10am-8pm. The last boat rental is two hours before closing and the

Biking hours: Opening Aug. 1. Daily, 10am-8pm. The last bike rental goes out one hour before closing.

All activities are weather permitting, and a valid government ID is required for rentals.

Splash pad hours: Opening Aug. 1. Daily, 10am-dusk. 

The LeFrak Center at Lakeside at Prospect Park Activity Rates

All bike rentals come with a helmet. Children ages 13 and younger are required to wear a helmet while biking.

Bike rental rates:

Tandem: $20/hour; $30/half-day; $47/full-day

City/Hybrid: $18/hour; $34/half-day; $45/full-day



Cruiser: $13/hour; $26/half-day; $33/full-day

Kids: $8/hour; $18/half-day; $25/full-day

Tag-a-long: $8/hour; $18/half-day; $25/full-day

Kids Trailer: $8/hour; $18/half-day; $25/full day

Boat rental  rates: 

All boat rentals include life jackets.

Single Pedal Boat (2 person + one lap child capacity): $26/hour

Double Pedal Boat (4 person + one lap child capacity): $36/hour

Single Kayak (1 person): $16/hour; $30/half-day; $40/full-day

Double Kayak (2 person): $25/hour; $38/half-day; $45/full-day 

Lakeside at Prospect Park is a 26-acre, multi-purpose activity hub and community gathering place inside Prospect Park. The state-of-the-art facility boasts a skating pavilion with two rinks for ice skating, roller skating, or water play, depending on the season. Visitors can rent boats, tour Prospect Park Lake via electric boat, and take in a beautiful view from the venue's spacious green roof terraces. Guests who want to refuel and relax can dine at Bluestone, Lakeside's signature restaurant and event space, that features distinctive specialty menu items from local artisans and small businesses, alongside traditional favorites.

Additionally, Lakeside brings Brooklynites and visitors of all ages curated programming and entertainment while providing a one-of-a-kind venue perfect for hosting special events ranging from children's birthday parties and charity benefits to elaborate galas, weddings, corporate events, and marketing activations.
