The Early Childhood Center is a nonsectarian, not-for-profit preschool. We offer a secure, supportive and stimulating environment. The Early Childhood Center retains the most qualified staff as well as the best resources. On site staff training is offered throughout the year.

We now know through scientific research that preschoolers have an enormous capacity to learn and develop. If this capacity is not stimulated during these years, children miss a critical opportunity. A quality preschool program can help children to develop reading, writing and math foundations as well as social skills that prepare them for later success in school and in life. The Early Childhood Center is that quality preschool program.

EDU - PRESCHOOLS
Now in its 53rd year, The Early Childhood Center is a NYS-licensed and NAEYC-accredited preschool for children ages 21 mos.-5 years. We encourage our children to grow to their fullest potential by providing developmentally appropriate play experiences which support the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child. Our threes and fours have the option of staying until 3pm as part of our Creative Kids program.

MEET THE DIRECTOR
Suzanne earned an M.A. in early childhood education and special education at Columbia University Teachers College and has been a preschool director for 12 years. At ECC, children grow to their fullest potential through developmentally appropriate school experiences across all domains. Suzanne values the importance of open-ended imaginary play, which she views as an essential component of future school success. ECCs curriculum is a blend of teacher- and student-initiated activities. Suzanne enjoys visiting the classroom and listening in on the conversations the children have with one another as they play in the classrooms many centers.
