A handmade valentine can warm up even the coldest heart! Here, we’ve compiled some of the best places to take the kids to make their own, plus some great ideas for Valentine’s Day fun in the Westchester County area.
Feb. 9
Every Saturday, Straight A’s Educational Store in White Plains offers free arts and crafts activities for kids of all ages from 1-3pm. Drop in Feb. 9 to Craft a Valentine’s Day Hand Rabbit. FREE!
Pottery Barn Kids in White Plains presents its annual Valentine’s Day Doll Tea Party, at which children are invited to dress up and bring along their favorite doll or teddy bear for refreshments, stories, and crafts.
Drop by the Bronx’s Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum on Feb. 9 from 1-3pm for a Victorian Valentine Workshop, in which you can learn about the history of valentines and create a charming handmade card for a loved one.

The whole family can make lacy, feathery, flowery Valentine’s Day cards together at Family Art Project: Hearts and Flowers at Wave Hill in the Bronx.
Feb. 9-14
Also at Potter Barn Kids in White Plains, kids are welcome (during store hours) at the Valentine’s Day Letter-Writing Station, where they can create and mail a valentine to a special friend or loved one. FREE!
Feb. 10
On Feb. 10, from 3-5pm, The YWCA of White Plains & Central Westchester presents its annual Family Fun Day Valentine’s Event from 3-5pm, featuring activities like face painting, arts and crafts projects, carnival games, raffles, and bake sales. Plus, at 4pm, The Brett Band for Kids performs an interactive concert. Proceeds will benefit YWCA programs and scholarship fund.
Feb. 12
Children in grades 3-6 can learn Valentine Origami and make special valentines for the people they love at the Chappaqua Library. FREE!
